Frequently
Asked Questions about
Northborough Kennels
What
accommodations are available?
Dogs are kept in individual indoor-outdoor runs, which vary in size.
When the building is being heated, dogs are let outside and inside periodically
during the day.During the warmer months, dogs are free to move inside
and outside as they please. Dogs are always closed in for the night.
We have some double kennels available for multiple dog households. Otherwise,
your dog will not be placed in a kennel with another dog. Indoor accommodations
are heated in winter and ventilated in the summer.
What vaccinations do you require?
We
require up to date vaccinations for rabies and distemper/parvo. Kennel
cough vaccine is recommended. To establish immunity kennel cough vaccine
must be given at least 10 days prior to exposure to other dogs.
Will
you feed my dog the way I do?
We
provide a high quality dry food mixed with a gravy made from canned
food and water. We will be happy to discuss your dog's special dietary
needs. Keeping some dogs on the same diet can be important, and we will
feed the special diets that you provide at no extra charge.
What
sort of flea-control do you use?
All
surfaces that your pet will contact are regularly cleaned with a biodegradable
detergent/disinfectant and a natural v pyrethrin-based insecticide.
How do you keep the place clean?
All
indoor and outdoor facilities as well as the dog's food dishes are washed
and disinfected daily with safe, natural, non-toxic products.
How
safe and secure is the facility?
We
have a double fencing system so that even if a dog should slip out of
one enclosure, it can't escape directly to the street or the "wide open
spaces".
May
I visit the kennel prior to boarding my dog?
Visits
are welcome during business hours. No appointment is necessary.
